The age of your hot tools is extremely important. Even top of the line equipment needs to be replaced now and then. Heating elements, filters, and thermometers all go out on hot tools; and unfortunately you’re not going to know when that is until it is too late and your hair has suffered the consequences. A good rule of thumb is to start asking Santa for some new toys if your tools are older than 5 years.
